School Improvement Strategies

Using systems thinking habits, concepts and tools in school improvement efforts leads to the development of attitudes, perceptions, and skills that contribute to long-term efficiency and effectiveness.  Examples of strategies that can be implemented are provided in a strategy plan format.

Strategies are presented in three stages of development:

The desert icon indicates lessons that have been edited and field-tested in several schools. Some are documented in a scripted format. The downloadable materials include complete lesson plans and student materials.
 The weight lifter icon indicates lessons that have been developed and tested in one or more classrooms. They are presented here for the purpose of further field-testing. Downloadable materials include complete lesson plans and student materials.
LThe magnifying glass icon indicates lesson ideas. Activities that have been developed and used, but do not include complete plans. However, downloadable materials include student materials.
