The Demo Dozen is a set of illustrative examples of computer models developed at the Waters Center for System Dynamics at Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont. The examples are designed to provide users with an introduction to a variety of computer models utilizing the STELLA® software and incorporating important concepts of system dynamics. The format includes scenarios for which investigative questions are addressed through the manipulation of a related computer simulation. Educators can utilize the simulations as teaching tools such as problem solving activities or integrated exercises in related units of study. Each of the examples could also be adapted to demonstrate additional concepts or areas of knowledge.
MSST is a segment of a developmental line of tutorial products developed at the Waters Center for System Dynamics at Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont. The tutorial was devised and constructed explicitly to support K-12 educators in learning the conceptual and mechanical foundations of computer simulation modeling with STELLA®. It has also been demonstrated that middle and high school students, with proper motivation and guidance, can successfully work through these materials, as can professionals outside education. MSST has been used successfully as the primary source material for a graduate level on-line course in modeling and as homework in high school and college courses that require students to have some basic level of modeling skill.
