Using Stock/Flow Maps to Explore the Dynamics of Learning
Groups in a seventh grade Language Arts/Social Studies class use stock/flow mapping to explore the dynamics involved with completing difficult tasks. It is one of the first activities the class undertakes and provides a basis for a discussion of what keeps students from being successful.
When presenting their findings they talk in terms of when one stock goes down another goes up or visa versa. Systems thinking concepts: interdependencies and leverage.
