Other Considerations

Setting Browser Preferences for Viewing:
Some of the WebEd content is set to open onto new windows. You may experience problems with opening this content if your browser is set to block pop-up windows. To prevent this problem, set your browser preferences to allow pop-ups for our hosting website - http://www.watersfoundation.org

For users with monitors set to 1024 X 768: To see all WebEd content across the width of the screen, you must set your browser preferences such that no sidebars (e.g. favorites) are visible.

Playing Videos:
Videos stream from our server.  These videos may play more or less smoothly depending on the speed of your computer and Internet connection.

Playing Animated Flash Components:
To prevent freezing problems and missing content, please wait for the file to finish loading before playing.  A green "loading bar" will appear when an animated file is loading and will disappear when the loading is complete.

Viewing .pdf Files:
When opening files to view and download, if you are unable to see the file on your browser screen, you may be missing the component on your browser that allows this option.

Macintosh Firefox users will need an additional “plug-in” to be able to view these files in addition to downloading them.  This "plug-in" is available at http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/ Download the program, open the .dmg file, and then follow the directions in the “Read Me” file to install and configure.

Additional Firefox troubleshooting for Windows and Macintosh users is available from the Firefox support website: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Opening+PDF+files+within+Firefox
